Area Lion’s Clubs
We participate with several Calhoun County Lion’s Clubs in providing reduced cost eye exams and glasses. Call your local Lion’s club and they see fi you qualify for their program. They know how to contact us if you qualify.
Our Father’s Arms
God has provided a place in Jacksonville for spiritual, physical, emotional and relational healing for the wayward and is known as “Our Father’s Arms”. One of the many outreach ministries of Brokenstone Ministries and its caretaker, Bob McLeod, OFA is an absolutely God ordained ministry to men who have found themselves separated from God and their families due to life’s difficulties. Our offices are blessed to be able to provide eye exams and glasses for the residents at no charge.
Eagle’s Nest
The women’s side of Brokenstone Ministries, we also are involved with helping the ladies of the Eagle’s Nest with their vision and eye health needs.
School Ministry
If you are teacher or administrator in one of our local school systems, we provide free eye exams and glasses to children in need whose parents can’t afford the care and don’t have private insurance, Mediciad or All Kids. Just contact our office, and identify the child and we’ll take it from there.
Medication payment programs
There are many programs out there that will help pay for a portion of your medications if you cannot afford them. If you need help, please call our office and we will help you pursue these programs.
Honduras Medical mission
Dr. Chandler, solely through God’s grace and His glory, provides eyeglasses to one of the poorest nations in our hemisphere-Honduras. If you would like to donate to this effort, please call our office or First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Also, if you have used eyewear that you no longer use, please bring them by our office and we will make sure these glasses are distributed to the wonderful people of Honduras. Thank you so much for you prayers for the spiritual and physical needs of the Hondurans
InfantSEE (it’s FREE)
The first eye exam is recommended for children at the age of…6 months (yes, 6 months, not years). Just like well-baby visits provided by pediatricians for general development, this exam is designed to check for problems that would interrupt the normal development of the eyes and visual system. This exam is free, as long as the child is still a preschooler, and it is their first exam. Please call our office for details.
Big Oak Ranch
We have provided care to this ministry started by John Croyle for many years now. If you are in a donating mood, this place will hit your fancy. They take on children who come from various backgrounds, and raise them in the honor and admonition of the Lord, with a healthy balance of love and discipline. This is one of my favorites. See the link for contact information.
Medicaid
We participate in the Alabama Medicaid program, including the eye program which provides eye care and eyewear for children and adults, as well as the medical program which provides medical eye care for conditions such as macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma. We are currently accepting new Medicaid patients, so contact our office for an appointment.
